How to Build Trust in Time of Crisis (Video)

Doing community outreach via conference calls and Zoom is not always easy. Here are some tips on how healthcare professionals can build trust with internal and external partners during time of crisis.

Early, transparent and constant communication

Communicate constantly with your teams now more than ever. Many leaders have formed either early morning or end of day briefing calls. These meetings roll key messages to clients, community partners and other contacts for the day. This will help your teams stay on message, and stay calm and clear and have the most up to date information.

Use your clinical team and community outreach folks in your organization

Tap on the expertise in your own organizations — if you have physicians or care coordinators who can provide insightful information in different languages and constant information as events unfold, consider showcasing them in our video and social media tools. This will help your efforts to build trust with all the populations you serve.

We need each other right now

Reach out to your partners in the community and new organizations. Align efforts with other organizations such as the departments of public health in your area to provide resources and coordinate messaging. You can use their flyers and the information and resources gathered on their website.

And above all take time to take care of yourself.
